Guide
AI agents for Etsy and Amazon sellers
Selling on Etsy or Amazon means a lot of repeat admin: listing copy, buyer questions, order checks and a weekly look at what sold. An AI agent can draft most of it. The marketplaces set the rules, though, and both have their own policies on messaging buyers, reviews and automated tools, so read the current policy pages in Etsy's Help Center and Amazon Seller Central before you connect anything. Etsy offers an official Open API v3 for shop management, with OAuth access scoped to your own shop (Etsy Developers). For your own store, see AI for Shopify stores. Time figures here are estimates, not measurements.
What to hand to an agent first
Listing drafts
Give it your product notes, materials, sizes and photo details and it drafts titles, descriptions and tags in your shop's style. You check every fact (materials, sizes, care) before publishing.
Buyer message drafts
It drafts replies to common questions (shipping times, custom orders, sizing) from your approved answers. You send them from the marketplace's own messaging, within its rules.
Order and stock check
Each morning it lists orders due to ship, late shipments and low stock from your own export or the official API, so nothing slips.
Weekly numbers
Every Monday: units sold, top listings, refunds and returns, from your sales report. It reports; you decide prices and ads.
Honest reviews only
Never write, buy or fake reviews. The FTC's rule on consumer reviews bans fake reviews and buying positive or negative reviews (16 CFR Part 465), and both marketplaces have their own review policies.
