Grok Bot usage planner: which routines use up your allowance?

List the routines your Bots run and how often they run. In about 2 minutes (an estimate), you'll see how many times each one runs a week, which ones use the most, and simple changes that cut the number of runs. Everything stays in your browser. Nothing is sent to us, and we never ask for your Grok Bot login.

We're an independent site, not part of xAI. xAI doesn't publish how many runs each plan allows, so this planner counts runs and compares your routines with each other. It can't tell you when you'll hit your limit.

1. Your routines

A routine is a job your Bot repeats on its own, like a summary of your day every weekday morning.

An example replaces your list. You can change anything after.

Your list is saved in this browser so it's here next time. Nothing is sent to us.

  1. How big is each run?

Sizes are our rough guide for comparing your routines with each other: Light counts as 1, Medium as 3 and Heavy as 8. They aren't xAI numbers. xAI bills extra usage by how much work the AI does, and doesn't publish a cost per run.

2. Your week

Days you're open
Quiet hours

Hours when nobody reads what the Bot finds. We use these to suggest dropping runs nobody will see until later.

FAQ

What are Grok Bot's usage limits?

Each Grok Bot plan includes a weekly amount of usage, and anything beyond it is billed as extra usage, based on how much work the AI does (x.ai). xAI doesn't publish that allowance as a number of runs, messages or hours. Settings > Usage & Billing shows how much you've used this week and when it resets (Grok Bot changelog). Our Grok Bot usage limits guide covers plans and what happens when you run out.

Why are my Grok Bot routines using so much?

Every run uses some of your weekly allowance, so how often a routine runs matters as much as what it does. A routine that checks every hour runs 168 times a week. Bigger jobs, like working through lots of email or opening websites, use more each time. And if you message a Bot while a routine is running, the routine runs again afterward (Grok Bot changelog). List your routines above to see which ones add up.

Does this planner know my real Grok Bot usage?

No. It never connects to Grok Bot and doesn't ask for a login. It counts runs from the schedules you type, and the sizes are our rough guide, not xAI numbers. Your real usage is in Settings > Usage & Billing. Use the planner to find the routines worth changing, then check that screen a week later.

Can a Grok Bot routine start when something happens instead of on a schedule?

Yes, for some apps. xAI's pages list routines that start from a Slack thread a Bot watches, a Microsoft Teams message, a GitHub pull request, a Linear issue, a Sentry alert, a PagerDuty incident, or the routine's own start link that another app can send to (Grok Bot 101, Grok Bot changelog). We couldn't find a way to start one when a new email arrives on xAI's pages, checked 18 Oct 2026, so email routines stay on a schedule.

Is my list saved or sent anywhere?

Your list stays in your browser. If you come back on the same device, it's still there until you press Clear my list. Nothing is sent to us unless you choose to enter your email for the Starter Kit, and then we store only your email and which form you used.
