AI agent business brief: tell your bot about your business in one page
Your AI agent doesn't know your prices, your tone or what it must never promise, so it guesses. Fill in 10 short fields and get a one-page business brief to give Grok Bot, ChatGPT or Claude, plus a starter list of "ask me first" rules so nothing goes out without your OK. It takes about 3 minutes (our estimate). It runs in your browser, and your answers aren't sent to us or to any AI.
We're an independent site, not part of xAI. The brief is a starting point: read it before you use it, and fix it whenever your bot gets something wrong.
Tell us about your business
★ = needed for the brief. Everything else can stay blank.
Leave it blank and your bot will write [ASK ME] instead of guessing a price.
The things that would cost you a customer if a bot said them.
Rough is fine. Use one line per question, and an arrow or a dash between the question and your answer.
Don't type passwords, card numbers or bank details here.
Fill in the 5 starred fields first.
Sources: Grok Bot steps come from xAI's Approvals docs, Bots docs, Get started docs and Files docs, and the Grok Bot changelog. The brief's rules come from the guardrail block on our pack page. See also the free routine checker and First 3 bots planner.
FAQ
What should I tell my AI agent about my business?
One page: what you sell, who buys, the prices you're happy to quote, your hours and area, your tone, what you never say or promise, the questions customers ask most, who handles problems, and what it must ask you about first. Anything missing should come back as [ASK ME], not a guess. Our free First 3 bots planner helps you pick the first jobs to give it.
Where do I put the brief in Grok Bot?
Paste it into the Bot's chat at the start of a task, or attach it as a file; plain-text documents are a supported attachment (xAI's Files docs). For the one-line rule, ask the Bot to remember it: Cursor's help says "The Bot keeps lasting rules in its memory", and personal Bots no longer have a description (Grok Bot help: Edit a Bot). On a Team Bot, put it in the description. Keep the master copy in your own doc, because xAI says a Bot's memory is not a substitute for an authoritative source (xAI's Bots docs).
Where do the "ask me first" rules go?
In Grok Bot, open Settings → General → Auto-review and add them as Ask first rules. Ask first rules always stop matching actions for you, and when two rules conflict, Ask first wins (xAI's Approvals docs). Our Grok Bot approvals guide covers draft cards and what happens when an approval expires.
Does it work with ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes. The brief is plain text, so paste it wherever your tool keeps standing instructions, or at the start of a chat. The Auto-review menu is Grok Bot only, so in other tools keep the "ask me first" lines at the bottom of the brief.
Is anything I type sent to you?
No. The brief is built in your browser and isn't sent to us or to any AI. Only your email is sent, and only if you ask for the Starter Kit. Don't put passwords or card numbers in a brief. If you ever share a Bot as a public template, xAI says the link shows its description, so remove customer data first (xAI's Bots docs).
