Can Grok Bot grow your X account? What works and what X's rules forbid
Updated · by Rosh Perera
Grok Bot can help you grow on X by doing the research and the first drafts: finding posts in your niche you can genuinely answer, drafting replies and posts for you to rewrite, and keeping a content calendar. It shouldn't post, reply, like or follow for you. X's own Automation rules forbid automated likes, automated replies based on keyword searches alone, bulk or aggressive following, and duplicative posts, and they say AI reply bots need X's prior written approval (X Help: Automation rules, updated April 2026). So the safe setup is drafts only, posted by you, at a human pace. We're an independent site, not part of xAI or X.

What X's rules say
X's Automation rules say you may not like posts or hide replies in an automated manner, may not send automated replies to posts based on keyword searches alone, may not follow or unfollow in a bulk, aggressive or indiscriminate manner, and may not post duplicative or substantially similar posts. Deploying any AI reply bot requires prior written and explicit approval from X, and non-API automation such as scripting the X website may result in permanent suspension (X Help: Automation rules). You're responsible for what's done with your account.
What works: find questions you can answer
Each morning, have your Bot list posts in your niche where someone asked a question you know the answer to, with a link to each. You pick the ones worth answering. Our lead finder on X template does this for buyers; the same pattern works for questions.
What works: drafts you rewrite
For each post you pick, the Bot drafts a reply. You rewrite it in your own words and post it yourself. A draft that would fit under any post is a bad draft: ask for one specific point per reply.
What works: your own posts
Turn what you did this week into a few post ideas, drafted for you to edit. Our X content calendar and trend-to-content templates are written drafts-first.
What gets flagged
Auto-posting, replies that all sound the same, the same post more than once, bursts of activity, and automated likes, follows or reposts. Keep your Bot away from those even if a tool offers them.
A drafts-only X routine
"Every weekday at 8:00, find up to 10 recent posts in [my niche] that ask a question I can answer, and list them with links. For the 3 best, draft one short reply each with one specific, useful point, in plain words. Don't post, reply, like, follow or repost anything. I'll rewrite and post myself. Never reuse a reply." Check it with our routine checker before you schedule it.

Example: Grok Bot setup
Grok Bot routine: Find buyers asking for help on X Schedule: Daily 10:00 Every day, search X for posts from the last 24h where people ask for help with [my service] or complain about [problem I solve]. Skip bots and competitors. Give me the top 10 with link, why they're a fit, and a helpful non-salesy reply draft. Never post without my OK. Rules: draft first, never send or post anything external without my approval. Keep summaries short.

Keep these human
- Never let a Bot post, reply, like, follow or DM on X for you; X's rules name these directly.
- Grow at a human pace: a few real replies you rewrite beat many that sound alike.
- Tagging @bot on X uses your Grok Bot usage (xAI's Tag @bot docs).

FAQ
What can Grok Bot do to grow my X account?
Research and drafts: find posts in your niche you can answer, draft replies and posts for you to rewrite, and plan your week's content. You do the posting.
Can Grok Bot auto-reply to posts for me?
Don't. X's rules say automated replies based on keyword searches alone aren't permitted, and AI reply bots need X's prior written approval (X Help: Automation rules).
Will using Grok Bot get my X account suspended?
Drafting doesn't touch your account. What X acts on is automated activity that breaks its rules, like automated likes, aggressive following, duplicate posts, or scripting the X website, which may mean permanent suspension (X Help: Automation rules).
How many replies a day is safe?
X doesn't publish a safe number for replies. Keep it to a handful you've rewritten yourself, each with a specific point, and never the same reply twice.
