What can Grok Bot do for a real estate agent? Your first 3 bots

Updated · by Rosh Perera

Grok Bot can take three jobs off a real estate agent: reply drafts for new buyer and seller leads, follow-ups for leads that went quiet and listing descriptions drafted from your notes. It drafts and you approve, so nothing reaches a client or goes on a listing without your OK, and prices and advice stay with you. If you're an agent or run a small team and already have Grok Bot, start with these three bots, not a big team. Grok Bot facts here come from xAI's Grok Bot docs, its Use cases page and changelog, and Cursor's Grok Bot help, checked 20 Oct 2026. Own rentals or manage them? What to hand to an agent first

  • Bot 1: reply drafts for new leads

Twice a day, the Bot reads new portal and website enquiries, drafts a reply that answers what they asked and asks two or three qualifying questions, such as timing and area. That's our lead qualifier template. A Bot can claim its own email address and receive mail there, and email it sends from that address waits for your approval on a draft card (Grok Bot changelog), so you can forward lead emails to it.

  • Bot 2: follow-ups for leads that went quiet

Once a day, the Bot finds buyers and sellers who haven't heard from you in 3 or more days and drafts a short follow-up with one clear next step. That's our lead follow-up template. xAI's Sales Outbound use case "Researches accounts overnight, scores contacts with intent, drafts email and LinkedIn in your voice, and leaves a review list for you to approve." (xAI's Use cases page). A review list is the right shape for an agent too.

  • Bot 3: listing descriptions from your notes

When you take a new listing, you give the Bot your notes and photos and it drafts the description and a social post for you to edit. That's our listing descriptions template. On iPhone, you can share a photo from another app into a Bot chat (xAI's Files and results docs). Check every feature and measurement against your notes before it goes live.

  • Start from xAI's own templates

xAI's Use cases page lists 56 jobs and its official Marketplace lists 90 public templates, as of 20 Oct 2026 (our Grok Bot template stats page). Each use case has an Add to Grok Bot button (xAI's Use cases page). For an agent, the closest official ones are Sales Outbound, Meeting Prep Buddy and Social Media Manager, which "parks posts for you to publish" (xAI's Use cases page). Our templates page has drafts-first versions of the jobs in this guide, with copy-ready prompts.

  • Run all three through one daily list

Have each Bot hold its drafts, and add our daily approval list template so you approve, edit or reject them in one numbered list. An approval raised by a routine expires after about 10 minutes, and the action doesn't run (xAI's Approvals docs), so a list you check between showings is safer than cards you might miss. Our Grok Bot approvals guide covers the rest.

  • Set the schedules on purpose

Ask the Bot that owns the job to create the routine, and confirm the schedule and time zone (xAI's Skills and routines docs). Each run spends usage, and an hourly schedule or a Slack trigger on a busy channel can use a week of usage in a day (Grok Bot help: Routines). Our templates run lead replies twice a day, follow-ups daily and listing drafts when you add a listing.

  • Test each one before it runs on its own

Use Test run after you create or edit a routine. A test run does real work, so test with last month's leads and a sold listing, not live clients and check it stopped at the approval point (xAI's Skills and routines docs). Run each Bot for a week, approve every draft and tell it each edit you made. Then add the next one.

  • Later: a weekly deal deadline list

Prompt: "Every Sunday at 6:00 PM, read my active deal notes and list every deadline in the next [14] days with the deal name and what is needed. Put the most urgent first. Send the list only to me." You enter the dates; the Bot only reminds.

Example: Grok Bot setup

Grok Bot routine: Qualify property leads fast, with your OK on each reply
Schedule: Always on

When a new property inquiry arrives, within 2 minutes draft a reply that asks budget, timeline, pre-approval and area and offers real viewing times from my calendar, and send me the draft to approve. Send it only after I approve. Score the lead hot/warm/cold in my CRM and alert me for hot ones. (Sending the first reply instantly without approval is an optional upgrade once you trust the wording.)

Rules: draft first, never send or post anything external without my approval. Keep summaries short.

Setup steps

  1. Make Bot 1 with a short name and one primary job, and in your first message tell it the work, the sources to use and when to ask for your approval, then ask it to remember that (Grok Bot help: Onboarding): draft replies to new buyer and seller leads with two or three qualifying questions, for my approval. Never send, never state a price.
  2. Connect only the inbox your leads arrive in, or forward lead emails to the Bot's own address, and test on last month's leads.
  3. Make Bot 2 for quiet-lead follow-ups, and keep drafts on.
  4. Make Bot 3 for listing descriptions from your notes and photos.
  5. Add the daily approval list, run all three for a week and approve every draft before you add anything else.

Keep these human

  • Prices, valuations, offers and advice stay with you. Tell every Bot never to state a value or predict a price.
  • Review reply wording and listing copy for fair housing language before anything goes out.
  • Contracts, disclosures and anything a client signs stay with you.
  • Your Bots share one cloud computer, and files and browser sessions on it are available to every Bot (xAI's Approvals docs). Keep bank and payment logins off it at the start.
  • Personal Bots no longer have a description, so lasting rules go in chat: ask the Bot to remember them, like "From now on, ask before sending any email" (Grok Bot help: Edit a Bot).
  • Check opt-out and messaging rules where you work before you automate any texts.
  • Start in draft mode: the agent prepares, you approve, then you loosen the leash routine by routine.

FAQ

What can Grok Bot do for a real estate agent?

Start with three drafts-first jobs: reply drafts for new leads, follow-ups for leads that went quiet, and listing descriptions from your notes. You approve every draft.

Can Grok Bot reply to portal leads?

It can draft replies. Forward lead emails to a Bot's own address, and email it sends from that address waits for your approval on a draft card (Grok Bot changelog).

Can it write listing descriptions?

Yes, as drafts from your notes and photos. Check every feature and measurement, and review the wording for fair housing language.

Will it send messages to clients on its own?

Not if you keep drafts on. A Bot can write an email as a draft for you to review, then Send or Discard it (Grok Bot changelog), and you can add an Ask first rule for external email in Settings → General → Auto-review (xAI's Approvals docs).

Are there official Grok Bot templates for this?

xAI's Use cases page lists 56 jobs and its Marketplace lists 90 public templates, as of 20 Oct 2026 (our Grok Bot template stats page). None is made for this business type, so start from the closest ones named in this guide and set your own rules in the first message.

Where do I put the Bot's rules?

In chat. Personal Bots no longer have a description; for a lasting rule, ask the Bot to remember it (Grok Bot help: Edit a Bot). A Team Bot you own or manage still has a description.

Will portals let a Bot log in?

Many portals block automation or ask for fresh logins. Forwarding lead emails to your Bot's own address is simpler.
