Can Grok Bot run your GoHighLevel? HighLevel's MCP server, limits and a safe daily brief

Updated · by Rosh Perera

HighLevel runs an official MCP server that lets AI agents read and update contacts, conversations, calendars and opportunities, using a Private Integration Token you create in a sub-account. Grok Bot supports MCP servers, but we haven't tested HighLevel's server in Grok Bot and found no xAI or Cursor page about it, so treat the connection as Unverified. Agency and business owners on X asked whether Grok Bot can run their GoHighLevel, and one said HighLevel doesn't expose workflows to its API. This guide covers what HighLevel's server can do, what its tool list leaves out, a read-only first token, keeping the token safe, and a daily brief where every message to a lead waits for you. Facts come from HighLevel's help article on its MCP server and xAI's Grok Bot guides and docs, checked 20 Oct 2026. Want a pick for your exact business? Try our free What should my bot do? planner. Can Grok Bot run your GoHighLevel?

  • What HighLevel's MCP server does

HighLevel's help says: "The HighLevel MCP Server lets AI agents and MCP-compatible clients connect securely to HighLevel tools and services." It covers services such as Contacts, Conversations, Calendars, Opportunities, Payments, Locations and Custom Fields. You need access to the sub-account, a Private Integration Token with the right scopes, the sub-account's location ID and an MCP-compatible client. HighLevel lists Cursor among its client examples.

  • Does it work with Grok Bot?

xAI's Grok Bot 101 says: "Grok Bot supports the same MCP servers, plugins, and skills as Cursor." HighLevel's server needs two headers on every request, the token and the location ID. We found no xAI or Cursor page that shows how to add a custom MCP server with headers in Grok Bot, and we haven't tested it, so this is Unverified. Try it on a test sub-account first. There's no HighLevel connector in xAI's or Cursor's pages as of 20 Oct 2026.

  • What its tool list leaves out

HighLevel's article lists tools for calendars, contacts, conversations, locations, opportunities, payments, blogs, email templates and social posts. We didn't see tools for building or editing workflows in that list, so we can't say a Bot can fix your automations. One owner on X said HighLevel doesn't expose workflows to its API. That's their report, and we haven't confirmed it with HighLevel.

  • Create a read-only token first

HighLevel's steps: open the sub-account, go to Settings, select Private Integrations, click Create New Integration, choose the scopes, click Create Integration and copy the token. Start with view scopes only, such as View Contacts, View Conversations, View Opportunities and View Calendars. HighLevel's best practices say: "Grant edit permissions only when the AI agent needs to create or update data." Add edit scopes later, one job at a time.

  • Keep the token safe

HighLevel says: "Keep tokens private and never expose them in public repositories, screenshots, shared prompts, or client-side code." It also recommends rotating tokens periodically. Store the token with Grok Bot's secrets feature, not in chat. Our Grok Bot secrets guide shows how.

  • A daily HighLevel brief

Once a read-only connection works, one routine can send a morning brief: new leads since yesterday, today's appointments, and opportunities that haven't moved in a week. It can draft a follow-up for each new lead for you to read. The server includes a tool to send a message to a conversation, so if you ever add that scope, put sending behind an Ask first rule. Every text or email to a lead waits for you. Our lead follow-up template has a drafts-first version.

  • Agencies with many sub-accounts

HighLevel's security section says each request must include a valid Private Integration Token and location ID, and tokens are created inside a sub-account. So plan on one token per client sub-account, with only the scopes that client's job needs. Don't share one client's token with another client's Bot.

  • If the connection doesn't work: the browser

xAI's computer docs say: "Use the browser for services without a connector or for visual workflows a connector does not expose." A Bot can read your HighLevel dashboard in its browser after you sign in yourself. Keep that to reading. Don't let a Bot change automations or message leads from the browser without you watching.

  • Start from a template, not a blank page

xAI's Use cases page lists 56 jobs and its official Marketplace lists 90 public templates, as of 20 Oct 2026 (our Grok Bot template stats page). Our templates page has drafts-first versions with copy-ready prompts, and our free What should my bot do? planner picks a first job for a business.

Ready-made use cases

  1. 01Never miss a lead follow-up
The agent checks your CRM or inbox for leads that went quiet and drafts the next follow-up.
    ~4h/week · estimate
  2. 02Appointment reminders that cut no-shows, with your OK on each day's list
Each afternoon the agent drafts reminders for tomorrow's appointments. You approve the list in one go (approve all, edit or remove), then it sends. Reschedule replies wait for your OK too. Sending without review is an optional upgrade.
    ~3h/week · estimate
  3. 03One daily list of drafts to approve
Your bots hold every email, message and post they write as a draft. Once a day (or once a week) you get one numbered list and answer approve, edit or reject for each. Nothing goes out unapproved.
    ~1h/week · estimate

Example: Grok Bot setup

Grok Bot routine: Never miss a lead follow-up
Schedule: Daily 11:00

Every day, find leads that haven't heard from me in 3+ days (CRM or email). For each, draft a short follow-up that references our last conversation and offers one clear next step. List them for approval, oldest first.

Rules: draft first, never send or post anything external without my approval. Keep summaries short.

How do you connect it safely?

  1. In a test sub-account, create a Private Integration with view-only scopes and copy the token.
  2. Store the token as a secret, never in chat.
  3. Try adding HighLevel's MCP server to your Bot and ask it to find one contact.
  4. Build a morning brief routine that reads leads, appointments and opportunities.
  5. Keep every message to a lead as a draft you approve.

What should agencies check first?

  • Start with view-only scopes. Add edit scopes one job at a time.
  • Every text or email to a lead waits for your approval.
  • Use one token per client sub-account, and rotate tokens if anyone leaves.
  • Keep keys and passwords out of chat. Cursor's help says: "Don't paste secrets into chat, Shell, or ordinary files." (Grok Bot help: Store secrets securely).
  • Start in draft mode: the agent prepares, you approve, then you loosen the leash routine by routine.

FAQ

"Now if they could just run my go high level I'd be set"

HighLevel's official MCP server lets AI agents work with contacts, conversations, calendars and opportunities. Grok Bot supports MCP servers, but we haven't tested HighLevel's in Grok Bot, so start read-only on a test sub-account.

"I wanted to just tell grok bot to fix it but gohighlevel doesn't expose workflows to api."

HighLevel's MCP tool list doesn't include workflow tools that we could see, so we can't say a Bot can edit your workflows. Whether the wider API exposes them is your report, not something we've confirmed with HighLevel.

Is there a GoHighLevel connector for Grok Bot?

Not on xAI's or Cursor's pages as of 20 Oct 2026. The route is HighLevel's own MCP server, which is Unverified in Grok Bot.

Can Grok Bot text my leads from HighLevel?

HighLevel's server includes a tool to send a message to a conversation if the token has that scope. Keep it off at first, and when you add it, keep every message behind your approval.

Which HighLevel scopes should I give it?

Only what the job needs. Start with view scopes, and HighLevel says to grant edit permissions only when the AI agent needs to create or update data.

Do I need a developer to set it up?

HighLevel says no SDK is required, because MCP uses a standard HTTP connection. You still create a token, find your location ID and add the server to your client.
