Can I use Grok Bot in a web browser on a locked-down work computer?

Cursor's help lists Grok Bot as a desktop app for Mac, Windows and Linux, and a phone app for iPhone and Android. We found no official browser version. If your work computer blocks installs, use the phone app, and ask IT about the desktop app. Your Bots run on their own cloud computer, so routines keep working either way. Checked 20 Oct 2026 against Cursor help and docs.x.ai. We're an independent site, not part of xAI.

Can you use Grok Bot on a locked-down work computer?

  • What's officially supported

    From xAI's docs: macOS on Apple silicon and Intel. Windows on x64 and Arm64. Linux on x64 and Arm64 (.deb, .rpm or AppImage) iPhone on iOS 18 or later. Android 9 or later. iPad with iPadOS 18 or later (the iOS app runs there) Get the desktop app from cursor.com/dashboard/bot.

  • Your options on a locked-down work computer

    1. Use your phone. Sign in with the same Cursor account. Your access carries over, and you don't pay again. 2. Ask IT. Send them the download page and the platform list above. Our example note: "Hi, I'd like to install the Grok Bot desktop app for work. Download: cursor.com/dashboard/bot. Supported: Windows x64/Arm64,. macOS, Linux. Can you approve it or install it for me?" 1. Keep work flowing without the app open. Bots work on a cloud computer. Closing the app, the laptop or the phone doesn't stop a task or a routine.

  • Before you sign in on a work machine

    If your company uses SSO, finish the company login. Don't sign in with a different personal account. Keep Execution on this computer at Ask every time or Never allow on a work machine. xAI says to keep local access off unless a task needs it. Check your company's rules about AI tools and company data.

  • Mixing work and personal
