Route traffic through this computer is a Grok Bot desktop setting under Settings, Computer, Your computer. It sends your Bot's cloud computer web traffic through that desktop, so sites see the desktop's IP and the Bot can reach networks that device can. It works for new connections while the desktop app is open.

Turn routing on for one stuck site

  • Confirm the failure is network/IP, not a login card

    If the Bot asks for Take over on password/CAPTCHA, finish that step first (computer-and-apps). Routing does not type your password for you.

  • On Mac or Windows desktop Grok Bot, open Settings > Computer

    Under Your computer, turn on Route traffic through this computer (settings). If the row asks you to Update Bot's computer first, Update (FAQs).

  • Retry the site in chat

    Ask the Bot to open the URL again on a **new** connection (settings: applies to new connections).

  • Leave Execution on Ask every time unless you also need local commands

    Do not flip Always allow just to fix a blocked page (approvals; local-computer guide).

  • Turn routing off when the job ends

    Especially on shared or office networks you do not want Bot traffic to keep using.

  • If your admin locked the switch

    The UI explains local routing is disabled by team admin (settings). Ask the admin; do not hunt for a hidden override.
