Can Grok Bot send from your business email? Gmail, Outlook, send-as aliases and the Bot's own address

Updated · by Rosh Perera

To make suppliers see your company address, connect your business Gmail or Outlook account, because a Bot's own address is always at mail.grokbot.com. Gmail drafts use your default send-as address, so the alias you make the default in Gmail is the one your Bot's drafts use. Owners on X asked for this for supplier and B2B email, along with send-as aliases, Outlook shared mailboxes and an Outlook connection that linked the wrong account. This guide covers the three ways a Bot's email can go out, what's documented for aliases and Outlook, what isn't, and how to keep every send on approval. Facts come from xAI's Grok Bot changelog and guides, Cursor's Grok Bot help and Google's Gmail help, checked 20 Oct 2026. Want a pick for your exact business? Can Grok Bot send email from your business address?

  • Three ways a Bot's email can go out

First, the Bot's own address. Cursor's help says you can claim one at mail.grokbot.com, and: "You can have one address. You can't rename it or delete it, so choose the name carefully." We found no option to put that address on your own domain. Second, your connected Gmail. Third, your connected Outlook: xAI's changelog says you can "review a Bot's new email in chat, then choose Send email to send it from your Outlook account." For suppliers and customers, the second or third is the one that shows your company name.

  • Use your business Gmail, including Google Workspace

Connect it from Connect apps in the sidebar. xAI's Grok Bot 101 says: "You can connect multiple accounts per service, so I can look through personal and work email". To add a second account to an app you've already connected, Cursor's help says to open the app in Connect apps, then under Accounts choose Add Another Account, give it a label like work or personal, and sign in. Then tell the Bot which account to use by its label.

  • Send-as aliases

xAI's changelog says: "Gmail drafts use your default send-as address and add your own signature". So set the address you want as the default in Gmail. Google's help: open Gmail settings, go to the Accounts and import tab, and in the Send mail as section click Make default next to the address you want. Picking a different alias for each message: Unverified. We found nothing in xAI's or Cursor's pages about choosing a non-default alias, so test with a draft before you rely on it.

  • Outlook, labels and the wrong account

xAI's changelog says: "A Bot can use a plugin whose only connected account has a label, such as a labeled Outlook account." If Outlook connected the wrong account, open Outlook in Connect apps, check the account listed under Accounts, and add the right one with Add Another Account (Cursor help). Outlook shared mailboxes: Unverified. We found no xAI or Cursor page that says a Bot can send from a shared mailbox, so test with a draft first.

  • When more than one account could send

xAI's changelog: "When more than one account could send an email, the Bot asks which address to use, then tells you the address it sent from." Cursor's help says the same for the Bot's own address: "If you've also connected Gmail or Outlook, your Bot asks which account to send from when either could work." Name the account in your request, like use my work Gmail, so there's nothing to guess.

  • SMTP from your own domain

We found no official route for sending through your own mail server with SMTP. Some users describe workarounds on X, but we don't cover them here. Connecting the Gmail or Outlook account that already sends from your domain is the documented route.

  • Keep every send on approval

Email and Slack draft cards offer Disable drafts for this Bot, which lets that Bot send directly (xAI's changelog). Leave drafts on for anything a supplier or customer sees. For the Bot's own address, Cursor's help says: "There's no option for unattended sending." xAI's FAQ suggests narrow Ask first rules for actions such as sending.

  • Want it done for you?

Our done-for-you setup connects your business Gmail or Outlook, sets the right default address and builds one supplier or customer email workflow that ends in drafts you approve.

  • Start from a template, not a blank page

xAI's Use cases page lists 56 jobs and its official Marketplace lists 90 public templates, as of 20 Oct 2026 (our Grok Bot template stats page). Our templates page has drafts-first versions with copy-ready prompts, and our free What should my bot do? planner picks a first job for a business.

How do you set up your business address?

  1. In Gmail, make the address suppliers should see your default send-as address.
  2. In Grok Bot, open Connect apps and connect that Gmail or Outlook account, with a label like work.
  3. Ask the Bot for a draft to yourself and check the From address and signature.
  4. Name the account in each request, like use my work Gmail.
  5. Keep drafts on, and send each one yourself.

What should you test before suppliers see it?

  • Test every new account or alias with a draft to yourself before any supplier sees it.
  • Leave drafts on for customer and supplier email.
  • Choose the Bot's own address name carefully: you can't rename it or delete it (Cursor help).
  • Never paste a password or one-time code in chat. Sign in yourself with Take over, then choose I'm done (xAI's Approvals docs).
  • Start in draft mode: the agent prepares, you approve, then you loosen the leash routine by routine.

FAQ

"can we send from a verified Gmail Send as alias address, or is From locked to the OAuth accounts primary email? We need aliases for multi-domain"

xAI's changelog says Gmail drafts use your default send-as address, so make the alias your default in Gmail's Send mail as settings. Choosing a different alias per message isn't described in xAI's or Cursor's pages, so treat it as Unverified and test with a draft.

Can my Bot's own address use my domain?

We found no option for that. Cursor's help says the address is at mail.grokbot.com, and you can't rename it or delete it. Connect your business Gmail or Outlook instead.

Can I connect a personal and a work email?

Yes. xAI's Grok Bot 101 says you can connect multiple accounts per service, including personal and work email. Add the second one under Accounts with Add Another Account, and give each a label.

Can Grok Bot send from an Outlook shared mailbox?

Unverified. We found no xAI or Cursor page that covers shared mailboxes. Test with a draft to yourself before you rely on it.

Why did Outlook connect the wrong account?

Check which account is listed under Accounts for Outlook in Connect apps. Add the right one with Add Another Account, label it, and tell the Bot to use that label (Cursor help).

Does the Bot send without me?

Not with drafts on. Draft cards wait for you, and Cursor's help says there's no option for unattended sending from the Bot's own address. Don't choose Disable drafts for this Bot on anything customers see.
