How do I connect Outlook to Grok Bot and approve every email it sends?
Updated · by Rosh Perera
To connect Outlook to Grok Bot, open Connect apps in the sidebar and add Outlook. Your Bot can then draft an email that you review in chat and send from your Outlook account. xAI's changelog says you can "review a Bot's new email in chat, then choose Send email to send it from your Outlook account." This guide covers how to connect Outlook, a drafts-first way to send pitch emails, and what to do when it won't connect. Grok Bot facts come from xAI's Grok Bot changelog and docs and Cursor's Grok Bot help, checked 20 Oct 2026. We're an independent site, not part of xAI.

How to connect Outlook
Cursor's help gives the steps for any app: "In Grok Bot, select Connect apps in the sidebar, or follow an in-chat Connect card. In the Grok Bot mobile app, tap your avatar on the top left and select Connect apps." Search for Outlook and add it. When Grok Bot asks you to Authorize, finish the Microsoft sign-in in your browser, then "Confirm the app appears under Installed." Added isn't the same as signed in: Cursor's help says "Added means the app is installed, not that you are signed in."
What xAI says Bots can do with Outlook
xAI's changelog says: "Editable email drafts work with Outlook: review a Bot's new email in chat, then choose Send email to send it from your Outlook account." From 14 Oct: "Bots can archive, move, delete, flag, or mark many Outlook messages as read or unread in one step instead of one at a time." From 11 Oct: "When a sign-in emails a code or link, the Bot reads it from your connected Gmail or Outlook, or its own inbox, instead of asking you." And: "Outlook shows its Authorize card when a change needs more permission, and Bots stop retrying on deleted or protected items."
Draft pitch emails, then send them yourself
Ask for drafts, not sends: for example, draft a short pitch to each of these five contacts and don't send. xAI's mobile docs say: "When a Bot prepares an email or Slack message, the conversation can show a draft you can edit." Read each one, edit it, then choose Send email. There's no copy and paste step. Keep Ask first rules for email (our Grok Bot approvals guide), and leave drafts on for anything a customer sees.
Work and personal Outlook accounts
To add a second account to an app, Cursor's help says to open the app in Connect apps and, "Under Accounts, choose Add Another Account." Give it a label like work, then tell the Bot which one to use. It also says: "If you don't see Add Another Account, that app connects one account at a time." xAI's changelog says "A Bot can use a plugin whose only connected account has a label, such as a labeled Outlook account." When more than one account could send, "the Bot asks which address to use, then tells you the address it sent from."
If Outlook won't connect
Cursor's help: if the connect card does nothing, choose Reopen to bring the sign-in page back, or Retry if it says authorization failed, and finish the sign-in within about 10 minutes. If the app shows Needs auth or Disconnected, choose Authenticate. If it says Disabled by team admin, ask your Cursor team admin to turn it on. "If it still doesn't work, choose Remove, add the app again, and sign in." Then contact support with the app name and your account email (Grok Bot help: How Tos).
Company Microsoft accounts and IT admins
We found no xAI or Cursor page with Outlook admin approval steps as of 20 Oct 2026. Cursor's help documents a Microsoft admin step only for SharePoint. If your IT team blocks the Outlook sign-in, send support the app name, your account email and a screenshot of the Microsoft screen, rather than trying workarounds. Sending from your business address and send-as aliases is covered in our business email guide.
Start from a template, not a blank page
xAI's Use cases page lists 56 jobs and its official Marketplace lists 90 public templates, as of 20 Oct 2026 (our Grok Bot template stats page). Our templates page has drafts-first versions with copy-ready prompts, and our free What should my bot do? planner picks a first job for a business.

FAQ
"Has anyone successfully used Grok Bot with Outlook to draft and send pitch emails to people?"
Yes, it's documented. xAI's changelog says you can review a Bot's new email in chat, then choose Send email to send it from your Outlook account. Ask for drafts, read each one, then send it yourself.
"Are the bots not sending the RFQ emails out to vendors then, just drafting that request and you confirm then copy, paste, send?"
No copy and paste. With drafts on, the Bot's email waits in chat, and you choose Send email to send it from your Outlook account (xAI's changelog). Disable drafts only if you want that Bot to send without you.
"my IT administration is having trouble linking my account through the administration portal to give grok bot access to my outlook"
We found no official Outlook admin steps as of 20 Oct 2026. Cursor's help covers a Microsoft admin step only for SharePoint. Contact support with the app name, your account email and a screenshot of the Microsoft screen (Grok Bot help: How Tos).
Can I connect a work and a personal Outlook?
Open Outlook in Connect apps and look under Accounts for Add Another Account. If it's there, add the second account with a label like work. If it isn't, Cursor's help says that app connects one account at a time.
How do I disconnect Outlook?
Open Connect apps in the sidebar, open Outlook and choose Remove (Grok Bot help: How Tos). Every Bot on your account loses access to that mailbox.
