Grok Bot computer RAM and storage limits: how to keep it light

Updated · by Rosh Perera

Every Bot on your account shares one persistent cloud computer for files, browser sessions, and logins (xAI FAQ; xAI computer-and-apps). Cursor documents what happens when that computer runs low on disk: your Bot tells you once in chat, names the biggest files or folders with sizes, and offers to delete them.

Nothing is deleted unless you say yes (Cursor Grok Bot computer help). xAI and Cursor do not publish a public RAM size (GB) for the hosted computer in the pages we checked on 26 Oct 2026. Large-account owners still name "RAM and storage limits" as a top annoyance (user report, 26 Oct 2026), and store owners report browsers getting heavy when several Bots push the shared computer at once (older Reddit report). This page sticks to documented computer behavior, then gives light-load habits that match those docs. Our free Grok Bot usage check ranks which Bots and routines are most likely eating your week, with a fix prompt for each, right in your browser. We're an independent site, not part of xAI or Cursor.

Key points

  • One computer per user account, shared by all your Bots: files, browser cookies/sessions, and command-line credentials are shared (xAI computer-and-apps; xAI FAQ).
  • Several Bots can work in parallel; each Bot gets its own screen. One Bot can run only one computer-use task on its screen at a time (xAI FAQ; computer-and-apps).
  • Low disk space is not chat loss. Cleanup offers apply to computer files only; chats are stored separately (Cursor Grok Bot computer help).
  • No public RAM GB figure in Cursor computer help or xAI computer-and-apps / FAQ (checked 26 Oct 2026). Treat "RAM limits" as a user-reported pressure signal, not a published spec.
  • Durable project files belong under shared workspace paths your Bots already use; big install folders such as node_modules are not saved across computer update / Recover / Reset (Cursor Grok Bot computer help).

How to keep the Bot computer light

  • When the Bot offers disk cleanup, read the list before you say yes

Cursor's computer help: when the computer is almost full, the Bot names the biggest files or folders with their sizes and offers to delete them. Saying no leaves those files in place. Cleanup does not delete chats.

  • One heavy browser job per Bot screen

Several Bots can run at once, but each Bot only runs one computer-use task on its screen at a time (xAI FAQ). If a store site or admin panel is already open for a long scrape, finish or stop that task before stacking another browser marathon on the same Bot.

  • Prefer Connect apps over long browser sessions when an app exists

xAI FAQ: use a connector when one is available for a more structured and reliable integration. Browser work is for services without an app or for visual steps an app does not expose (computer-and-apps).

  • Clear downloads and huge exports you no longer need

Ask a Bot to list the largest folders under /workspace (or your project folders), then confirm deletes yourself. Keep durable results you still need; remove install caches and one-off exports. After a computer update, Recover, or Reset, reinstall project tool folders that are not persisted (Cursor computer help).

  • Don't treat more Bots as more computers

The computer is assigned per user, not per Bot (xAI FAQ). Adding Bots does not add RAM or disk. Split roles for clearer work, not for a bigger machine.

  • If the computer is stuck or unreachable, use the safe order first

Retry, quit/reopen, Update, then Recover; Reset last (Cursor computer help). Our computer-not-working guide walks that order. Don't Reset just to free disk if a cleanup offer is still available.

Grok Bot routine: CEO morning brief in 5 minutes
Schedule: Daily 7:30

Every morning, read my calendar for today, my unread emails from the last 24h and yesterday's revenue. Send me a brief: (1) meetings with one prep note each, (2) emails that need my reply with a suggested one-line answer, (3) money in/out, (4) the 3 highest-leverage tasks for today. Keep it under 200 words.

Rules: draft first, never send or post anything external without my approval. Keep summaries short.

What should you keep in mind?

  • We do not invent a RAM GB number. If xAI publishes one later, update this page from the official source.
  • User reports of "browsers crashing" with many Bots are not the same as a documented outage. Check status.x.ai, then lighten browser load.
  • Deleting files inside the computer does not delete conversation history (Cursor computer help). Still confirm before bulk deletes.
  • Bank, payroll, and tax logins still belong off the shared computer when other Bots should not use them (same shared-session rule as our website-logins guide).

FAQ

What are Grok Bot's RAM and storage limits?

Storage pressure is handled with a low-disk cleanup offer in chat (Cursor computer help). A public RAM size in GB was not on Cursor's Grok Bot computer help or xAI's computer-and-apps / FAQ pages when we checked 26 Oct 2026. Owners still report RAM and storage as a pain; keep the shared computer light using the steps above.

Do all my Bots share disk and browser memory?

They share one computer: files, browser sessions, and logins (xAI FAQ). Each Bot has its own screen for computer-use work, with one computer-use task per Bot at a time.

Will disk cleanup delete my chats?

No. Low disk cleanup applies to computer files only. Chats are stored outside the computer (Cursor computer help).

Can I get a bigger Bot computer by creating more Bots?

No. The computer is per user account, not per Bot (xAI FAQ).

What should I try if the computer feels slow or full?

Accept or refuse the cleanup offer carefully, finish stacked browser tasks, prefer Connect apps, then follow Update/Recover before Reset (Cursor computer help; our computer-not-working guide).
