Guide
grok.com/bot empty but desktop still has my Grok Bots
Updated · by Rosh Perera
If grok.com/bot shows one brand-new Grok Bot in first-time setup (asking to authorize Gmail) while the desktop app still has your real Bots, conversations and connectors, you are usually signed into **different Cursor/Grok accounts** on the two surfaces after a Premium or unify change (owner report: X @dhruvil_karani, 24 Oct 2026, 17:41 Asia/Colombo: https://x.com/dhruvil_karani/status/2113966493289353384).
Fully sign out of Grok Bot / grok.com everywhere, then sign back in with the **same method and email** you used when you created the Bots. Do **not** create a second Bot team or buy a second subscription to "fix" the empty side. If one side still shows plan-without-bots or bots-without-plan, treat it as the account-split case and contact support with both emails. Deep dives: our bots-missing and premium-not-showing guides. We do not invent unify menu clicks beyond xAI Unify / sign-in docs. Checked 27 Oct 2026. We're an independent site, not part of xAI or Cursor.
Key points
- Empty web + full desktop: (or the reverse) points to account mismatch more often than "sync lag."
- Same email + same sign-in method: on both surfaces before you recreate anything.
- Unify is permanent: when completed (xAI Unify accounts: Support can't undo; cancel does not restore prior Cursor/SuperGrok/X Premium - cite only if the reader is mid-unify; link our switch-to-x-subscription guide).
- Do not buy a second subscription: to populate the empty side (premium-not-showing pattern).
- Do not Recover/Reset the computer to find Bots: (bots-missing guide; Cursor FAQs).
- Searching Grok.com chat history from a Bot: is a separate product ask in that X thread - not solved by this page; we do not invent a sync toggle.
Align web and desktop on one account
Write down the email on desktop
Open Grok Bot desktop > account / settings and note the signed-in email (and whether it is Google, X, or another method).
Fully sign out on web
Sign out of grok.com and any Grok Bot web surface in that browser. Clear the site session if the browser keeps bouncing you into the wrong account (sign-in help patterns).
Fully quit desktop and sign out
Quit the desktop app (macOS: Quit from the menu bar), sign out if offered, reopen.
Sign back in everywhere with the desktop email
Use the same provider/email that owns the Bots you still see on desktop. Re-check grok.com/bot and the desktop sidebar.
If web still shows a fresh Bot only
Stop creating new Bots there. Contact support with: both emails you might own, which surface shows which roster, plan name, and screenshots (bots-missing / contact-support checklists).
If desktop is empty but web has the team
Same align steps, starting from the surface that still has the Bots. Still no second purchase.

Ready-made use cases
- 01CEO morning brief in 5 minutes
One message each morning: calendar, urgent emails, money in/out, and the 3 things that move the business today.
~3h/week · estimate - 02One daily list of drafts to approve
Your bots hold every email, message and post they write as a draft. Once a day (or once a week) you get one numbered list and answer approve, edit or reject for each. Nothing goes out unapproved.

Example: Grok Bot setup
Grok Bot routine: CEO morning brief in 5 minutes Schedule: Daily 7:30 Every morning, read my calendar for today, my unread emails from the last 24h and yesterday's revenue. Send me a brief: (1) meetings with one prep note each, (2) emails that need my reply with a suggested one-line answer, (3) money in/out, (4) the 3 highest-leverage tasks for today. Keep it under 200 words. Rules: draft first, never send or post anything external without my approval. Keep summaries short.

What should you keep in mind?
- We do not publish a fake "Sync now" button.
- Completed unification is permanent (xAI Unify accounts) - decide before you unify; this page does not walk unify as a fix for an empty tab.
- Creating Bots on the empty account makes the split worse.

FAQ
Why does grok.com/bot show a brand-new Bot when desktop has my whole team?
Different accounts on the two surfaces is the usual cause after Premium or unify (owner report 24 Oct 2026). Sign out everywhere and sign in with the email that owns the desktop team. Do not buy a second plan.
Should I Recover or Reset to sync web and desktop?
No. Missing-Bot checks say not to use Recover/Reset to look for Bots (Cursor FAQs; our bots-missing guide). Fix the account alignment first.
Can Grok Bot search my grok.com chat history?
That was a separate ask in the same X thread. We found no documented "index all grok.com chats into every Bot" switch on the pages we checked 27 Oct 2026. Do not invent one; ask Support if you need that product path.
