Can Grok Bot use Yahoo Mail? Your options without a Yahoo connector

Yes, through its browser rather than a connector. Cursor's Connect apps help says "Gmail can search and read mail, draft and send, and apply labels on the connected mailbox." and we found no Yahoo connector there (checked 21 Oct 2026).

How can a Bot work with Yahoo Mail?

  • What's supported

    Gmail has a connector. Yahoo doesn't, as far as Cursor's Connect apps help shows (checked 21 Oct 2026). xAI's docs: "Use the browser for services without a connector or for visual workflows a connector does not expose." (xAI's Computer and apps docs). Our connector checker shows today's list.

  • Option A: sign in to Yahoo Mail in the Bot's browser

    Ask the Bot to open Yahoo Mail, then choose Take over and sign in yourself. Browser sessions persist on the Bot's computer, so you usually won't need to sign in each time, though Yahoo may ask again. Every Bot on your account can use that session.

  • Option B: forward chosen mail to the Bot's own address

    If Agent Email is on for your account, it "Lets members claim an agent email address and lets their Bots read and send mail from it." (xAI's Teams and Enterprises docs). Forward only the messages you want handled, such as receipts or enquiries. Our Bot email address guide covers setup.

  • About IMAP and app passwords

    Yahoo's help lists "imap.mail.yahoo.com" as its incoming server and says to "Generate App Password" for mail apps (Yahoo help: IMAP settings). Grok Bot's docs don't describe connecting a mailbox by IMAP (checked 21 Oct 2026), so treat that as your own judgment call, and never paste an app password in chat.

  • Approval rules for sending from your address

    Add an Ask first rule for any email sent from your Yahoo account. xAI lists "Sending messages or invitations" among actions to keep behind an explicit boundary (xAI's Approvals docs). Start with read and draft only.
