Grok Bot keeps asking me to log into Google for Sheets

If Grok Bot edits Google Sheets by driving the browser, Google can ask you to sign in again every few minutes. That is a different path from the Sheets Connect app, which Cursor's help says can read and edit cells when connected.

Prefer the Sheets app for cell work the account can already edit, use Drive to find the file, and treat browser login churn as a reason to stop click-through edits for standing jobs. How do you stop babysitting Google login prompts?

  • Confirm whether the Bot is using Sheets Connect or the browser

    Ask the Bot which tool it used, or watch for a Connect apps Sheets call versus a computer-use browse to sheets.google.com. Browser UI edits are the ones that re-prompt login in the Reddit report.

  • Connect Sheets and Drive the official way

  • Give the Bot a Sheet the account can already edit

    Viewer shares stay view-only (Connect apps help). If the connected account cannot edit, cell writes will fail even when Sheets is connected. Fix sharing in Google first.

  • Rewrite the prompt to prefer Sheets app cell edits

    Tell the Bot to update specific cells or ranges through the Sheets app, not by opening Sheets in its browser. Keep the ask narrow (tab, range, values) so it does not fall back to click-through.

  • Use the Workspace add-on when you are at the keyboard

  • If Google admin blocked the connect, fix trust before retrying browser tricks

    Connect apps help: a company Google account can stop Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, or Slides until an admin trusts Grok. Changing browsers does not clear an admin block.
