Which Grok Bot plugins does a small business actually need?
Updated · by Rosh Perera
Our pick for most small businesses is five: your email (Gmail or Outlook), your calendar, your files (Google Drive or OneDrive), a spreadsheet (Google Sheets) and Slack if your team uses it. Add your accounting app, such as QuickBooks Online, once those work. Plugins are the connectors you install from Connect apps, and xAI's docs say to "Prefer a connector when one is available". Connect one, give it one job, then add the next. Checked 21 Oct 2026 against Cursor help, docs.x.ai and the Grok Bot changelog. We're an independent site, not part of xAI.
Which plugins should a small business add first?
What owners are asking
User reports: one business owner wrote "I need Grok Bot Plug Ins that are game changers" and said they couldn't find a list of must-haves (plugins report). Another owner's advice to beginners: "Start with ONE Grokbot. Connect the essentials" (essentials report). This page is that short list. For every app xAI names, see our connectors list.
1. Email: Gmail or Outlook
Cursor's help: "Gmail can search and read mail, draft and send, and apply labels on the connected mailbox." For Outlook, xAI's changelog says "Bots can archive, move, delete, flag, or mark many Outlook messages as read or unread in one step instead of one at a time." First job: a morning list of emails that need you, with reply drafts you send yourself. Step by step: connect Gmail, or connect Outlook.
2. Calendar
Cursor's help: "The bot can read calendars you can see, create and update events, check free time, and respond to invitations on calendars you can edit." First job: tomorrow's schedule every evening, with a heads-up on clashes and gaps. Step by step: connect Google Calendar.
3. Files: Google Drive or OneDrive
Cursor's help: "Drive can search and read files that account can open." xAI's changelog adds "Bots can upload files to Google Drive or OneDrive, or attach them to a Gmail draft." First job: save each invoice or receipt the Bot finds into a dated folder. Step by step: connect Google Drive.
4. A spreadsheet: Google Sheets
Cursor's help: "Connecting Sheets lets the bot read and edit cells in spreadsheets the connected Google account can edit." "A file shared as Viewer stays view-only." First job: keep a leads or jobs sheet up to date from your inbox. Step by step: connect Google Sheets.
5. Team chat: Slack
Skip this if you work alone. Cursor's help: "The Slack app posts as the Slack user you connected, not as a separate bot that has to be invited." First job: a daily summary posted in one channel, with anything customer-facing kept as a draft. Step by step: connect Slack.
Then: your accounting app
xAI's changelog says "QuickBooks Online is available to connect." and also mentions Xero as a local plugin. Add accounting after the five above, and keep anything that pays, sends or changes records behind your approval. See our QuickBooks guide and Xero guide.
Before you add any plugin
xAI's docs: "Installed connectors are account-wide." Cursor's help: "A connected app is available to every bot on that Grok Bot account." A plugin "can do only what that account can already do in that service." Meeting apps: Cursor's help says Zoom authorization from the desktop app "currently fails with error 4700 (Invalid redirect)". App not listed? See our no connector guide, or check your setup with the connector checker.

FAQ
What are the must-have Grok Bot plugins for a small business?
Our pick: email (Gmail or Outlook), calendar, Google Drive or OneDrive, Google Sheets, and Slack if your team uses it. Then your accounting app.
Is a plugin the same as a connector in Grok Bot?
Yes. xAI's docs say connectors are installed as plugins from Connect apps.
Should I connect everything at once?
Our advice: no. Connect one app, give it one job for a week, then add the next. Every connected app is available to every Bot on the account.
Can Grok Bot connect to Zoom?
Not from the desktop app right now. Cursor's help says Zoom authorization fails with error 4700 and there is no workaround for now.
